Reginald Jordan Perry was born March 21, 2000 and grew up in Thomasville, Georgia. He is the son of Al and Kimberly Perry. His father, Al, was a standout basketball player at Mississippi State in the late 70's who currently ranks third in MSU program history with 510 assists. Reggie Perry attended Thomasville High School and earned 2017 Georgia Class 2A Player of the Year honors when he led Thomasville to it's first state championship. Perry attended this father's alma mater, Mississippi State, from 2018 to 2020. After his freshman season, he joined the USA national team for the 2019 FIBA U19 World Cup, won a gold medal and was named Most Valuable Player of the tournament. While at MSU, Perry studied kinesiology. After the COVID-19-shortened 2019-20 season, Perry won both SEC Co-Player of Year and All-SEC First Team honors.
