Troy Randall Brown Jr. was born in 1999 in Las Vegas, Nevada and is the son of Lynn and Troy Brown Sr. Lynn ran track and Troy Sr. played basketball at Texas A&M University--Kingsville. Troy's sister Jada also played basketball at the University of Kansas. Brown played high school ball at Centennial H.S. in Las Vegas. At the 2016 FIBA Under-17 World Championship, Brown was a member of the gold-medal USA squad. Brown was named First Team All-Nevada by USA Today in 2016.
