Life-Sized Ben Wallace Bobblehead Will Guard Palace for Game Five Against New Jersey

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. – Fans attending Game Five of the Detroit Pistons vs. New Jersey Nets Eastern Conference semifinal playoff series this Friday at 7:00 p.m., will have a chance to get up close and personal with the Pistons brightest star: Ben Wallace.

Actually, fans will be able to meet a life-sized BOBBLEHEAD of the Pistons All-Star center that will be on display outside the Palace Locker Room store in the West Atrium of The Palace of Auburn Hills. The life-size bobblehead will be unveiled in the morning on Thursday, May 13 in the Atrium.

The 6’ 9” bobblehead weighs in at 275 lbs., 35 lbs. heavier than the actual Wallace, and will sport corn-rows instead of Wallace’s signature afro. The Wallace statue sports a home white #3 uniform and has all of the tattoos that the real Ben has inked on his arms. And, yes, the head really does bobble.

Forever Collectibles, who used multiple photographs of Wallace to provide exceptional detail, right down to the tattoos and sneakers, manufactured the bobblehead. The company has done similar versions for the Los Angeles Lakers’ Shaquille O’Neal, the Philadelphia 76ers' Allen Iverson and Houston Rockets big-man Yao Ming. The Lakers reportedly sold six of the Shaq life-sized bobbleheads for $27,000 plus tax – EACH!
