Ben Wallace Records 1,000th Career Block With Pistons

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. - Detroit Pistons center Ben Wallace became the second player in franchise history to record 1,000 blocked shots with his fourth block at the 5:08 mark of the third quarter during the Pistons 100-88 victory over the Boston Celtics on Januray 2, 2005.

Wallace also recorded his 1,300th career block for his NBA career with his second block at the 1:44 mark of the first quarter in the same game. He finished the contest with a total of five blocked shots.

Terry Tyler (1978-85) is the only other Piston to block 1,000 shots and holds the franchise record with 1,070. Wallace reached the 1,000 milestone in 335 games, becoming the fastest Piston to 1,000 blocks. It took Tyler 505 games to reach 1,000 blocks. Wallace is one of only 63 players in NBA history to record 1,000 blocks since blocks became an official statistic in 1973-74.
