Series Keys - Mr. Clutch

If the baseball version of Reggie Jackson was Mr. October, the Pistons version has become Mr. Clutch for them. Jackson ranked among the best in the league this season in clutch stats – the last five minutes of games with margins of five points or less. He made 42.4 percent of his 3-point shots under those conditions and 89 percent of his free throws while averaging 1.8 attempts in those situations – a figure that puts him in the company of Kyrie Irving, LeBron James, James Harden, Dwyane Wade and John Wall – all All-Stars. The Pistons were fourth in the NBA in scoring margin in the fourth quarter, ranking behind only Atlanta, San Antonio and Toronto. The Pistons won nine games this season when trailing after three quarters. When the Pistons clinched their first playoff berth in seven years by beating Washington, Jackson scored 14 of his 39 points in the fourth quarter to carry them to the win. He was the driving force behind most of the nail-biting wins the Pistons put together on their way to their highest win total, 44, since the 2007-08 season.
