The Detroit Pistons announced today that its 2018-19 local television schedule will include 82 regular-season games and three preseason contests televised by FOX Sports Detroit and/or FOX Sports Detroit Plus. In addition, four games will broadcast on ESPN and six contests will air on NBA TV as part of the NBA’s national television schedule.

FOX Sports Detroit, beginning its 22nd season of broadcasting Pistons games, is the exclusive local television provider for Detroit Basketball. The network will televise 82 regular-season games beginning with the home opener at Little Caesars Arena on October 17 against Brooklyn. FOX Sports Detroit will also carry preseason home games on October 8 and 10, as well as a preseason contest against the Cleveland Cavaliers at the Breslin Center on the campus of Michigan State on October 12. All Pistons games this season on FOX Sports Detroit and FOX Sports Detroit Plus will be televised in high-definition. Fans will also be able to stream any Pistons game that airs on a FOX network on the FOX Sports app.

“We’re excited to enter our 22nd season of continued partnership with FOX Sports Detroit,” said Charlie Metzger, Executive Vice President and Chief Revenue and Marketing Officer for the Detroit Pistons. “With 82 regular-season games and three preseason contests on the local schedule, FOX Sports Detroit’s award winning broadcast production will provide fans the most complete coverage of Pistons basketball both on and off the floor.”

Highlights of the regular-season broadcast schedule include four games against Kyrie Irving, Gordon Hayward and the Eastern Conference finalist Boston Celtics (October 27, October 30, December 15 and February 13), a pair of matchups against LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers (January 9 and March 15) and two meetings with the NBA Champion Golden State Warriors featuring Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant and Michigan-native Draymond Green (December 1 and March 24). Additional highlights of the regular season include four contests against all-star Joel Embiid, ROY Ben Simmons and the Philadelphia 76ers (October 23, November 3, December 7 and December 10) and two matchups with MVP James Harden, Chris Paul, Carmelo Anthony and the Houston Rockets (November 21 and November 23).

“With a new coach and an exciting roster, Pistons Basketball on FOX Sports Detroit will absolutely be appointment-viewing TV,” said Greg Hammaren, Senior Vice President and General Manager of FOX Sports Detroit. “Our EMMY-winning coverage of the Pistons is led by a pair of Michigan State Hall of Famers in George Blaha and Greg Kelser. Our entire production team is devoted to delivering Pistons fans some of the best coverage throughout the NBA.”

Eight Pistons games will air on FOX Sports Detroit Plus, occurring on nights when coinciding Detroit Red Wings games are slated for broadcast on FOX Sports Detroit. FOX Sports Detroit and FOX Sports Detroit Plus channel numbers by video provider can be found at www.foxsportsdetroit.com.

Accompanying the telecasts is PISTONS LIVE, providing exclusive and extensive pre- and post-game coverage originating from the Little Caesars Arena and the network’s high-definition studio.
