Pelicans Assign Cheick Diallo to Greensboro Swarm

NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Pelicans announced today that the team has assigned rookie forward Cheick Diallo to the Greensboro Swarm of the NBA Development League, pursuant to the flexible assignment system. This will be Diallo’s fifth D-League assignment.
In his most recent assignment, Diallo appeared in seven contests for the Swarm, averaging 16.3 points on .500 shooting from the floor, 10.4 rebounds and 2.1 blocks in 31.0 minutes per game.
Diallo, 6-9, 220, has averaged 13.7 points on .517 shooting from the floor, 7.6 rebounds and 2.0 blocks in 25.7 minutes over 18 games with Greensboro, Long Island and Austin.
Diallo was originally selected by the L.A. Clippers with the 33rd overall pick out of the University of Kansas in the 2016 NBA Draft. Diallo has appeared in 10 regular season games for New Orleans, averaging 4.1 points and 3.3 rebounds in 9.6 minutes per contest.
