Ryan Anderson Blog: April 16, 2014

April 16, 2014

For a second season, New Orleans forward Ryan Anderson is providing periodic blog updates on Pelicans.com, delving into many of his experiences as a resident of New Orleans and other topics. In his latest update, Anderson responded to questions about some of the personalities and off-court traits of his teammates.

BEST PELICANS BROMANCE
Austin Rivers and Anthony Morrow. I have to say, I have a pretty good bromance with a few guys, and have a consistent group of guys I hang out with on the road, but I’m always hearing about Austin and A-Mo hanging out. A-Mo says things like that he’s Austin’s big brother and that he’s trying to take him under his wing. But I think Jeff Withey and I also have a good bromance. We sit next to each other on the plane and have deep conversations.

BEST USER OF SOCIAL MEDIA
Jason Smith is the type of guy who does a really good job on Twitter of marketing the team and the professional side of what we do. I think Anthony Morrow is great at marketing his life and what he does every day, so he has a lot of followers. And obviously, Anthony Davis does a good job – but he’s Anthony Davis, so he automatically has a ton of followers. Darius Miller also must have 100,000 followers just from Kentucky alone.

MOST LIKELY PELICAN TO BECOME AN NBA COACH
I definitely could see Jason Smith becoming a head coach when he retires, but I also think he’d be great on the management side of a team. Jason’s probably going to be the guy on the team who is most interested in staying involved with basketball after he retires from playing.

MOST LIKELY PELICAN TO BECOME A BROADCASTER
I would love to be a broadcaster one day. Jason and Jrue Holiday also could be great someday. For me, it’s something I’d want to do, but not necessarily something I’d be great at. It would be fun. But I wouldn’t want to do something that’s strictly just about basketball. I’d love to be able to just be myself and talk about a bunch of even non-sports things. I enjoy throwing out a topic and then just talking about it, such as what you see on a morning talk show.
