Pelicans Sign Kendrick Perkins

NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Pelicans today announced that the team has signed free agent center Kendrick Perkins. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Perkins, 6-10, 270, appeared in 68 games for Oklahoma City and Cleveland in the 2014-15 season, averaging a combined 3.6 points and 4.7 rebounds in 16.9 minutes per contest.

Perkins, a member of the 2008 NBA Champion Boston Celtics, has appeared in the postseason nine times and the NBA Finals four times. Perkins has seen action in 143 playoff contests (129 starts), averaging 5.1 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.1 blocks in 23.6 minutes.

Originally drafted by Memphis with the 27th overall selection in the 2003 NBA Draft, Perkins has played in 744 career NBA contests with Boston, Oklahoma City and Cleveland, holding averages of 5.5 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.2 blocks.
