Pelicans Head Coach Willie Green

On Brandon Ingram returning:

“It was good to have him back. Honestly, we needed his production tonight, especially with the minutes I’ve been playing CJ, Trey and Naji, and a lot of those guys, so he picked up some slack for us. We needed him despite him being a little rusty.”

On Larry’s growth from last year:

“Well, if tonight is any evidence of his knee feeling well he definitely was jumping higher tonight. He’s been getting better and better as the season has progressed and I’m playing him more and more because of his production.”

Pelicans Forward Brandon Ingram

On what he experienced with his concussion:

“I experienced pretty much everything – sensitivity to light and constant headaches. I became irritable being around different people. I was able to get through it. It was super boring, but I was watching my team play and saw them get a couple of wins. I
continued to be in contact with those guys.”

On the impact that Larry Nance Jr. has made with his versatility:

“Larry (Nance Jr.) has been big for us since last year and in the playoffs against Phoenix. He’s starting to get his legs back under him, and he’s being really aggressive around the rim. You can see the confidence with him shooting behind the line and him shooting in the mid-range area. I’ve been impressed by what he has been doing. He has been really consistent with it.”

On his explosiveness tonight:

“I feel great. I’m back healthy. It has been a long time with that meniscus. I didn’t realize how much it was bothering me. I feel great, but my job was easy today. Those guys got it to me in all of the right spots. All I had to do was make the layup or make the dunk.”

On the comfort and consistency in his situation here in New Orleans:

“I feel great. I feel like this type of role is what I’ve been looking for – closing games as a switchable five. If you need to play through me, you can play through me. If you need me to space, I can space. If you need me to make the weak side defender
scared to jump, I can do that. I’m very thankful to be in this situation, and hopefully, we can just keep building."
