Five things to know about the Pelicans on Nov. 13, 2019

2)      On Western Conference Wednesday, there are normally more teams than this in this half of the league over .500 at an early stage of this season, but through Tuesday’s action, only eight clubs have winning records. Dallas, Phoenix and Minnesota are all exactly 6-4, tied for sixth through eighth place in the West, which puts them four games ahead of New Orleans (2-8). San Antonio (5-5) is in ninth place.

3)      Taking a look at this week’s power rankings from five prominent sites, the Pelicans are highest on NBA.com’s and The Athletic’s lists, checking in at No. 24 on both. NBA.com wrote of Brandon Ingram: “After dropping a career-high 40 points in Brooklyn on Monday and following that up with 52 total against Toronto and Charlotte, Brandon Ingram is looking like a Most Improved candidate, though it will be interesting to see if his perimeter shooting numbers hold up over the course of the season.” The Pelicans are No. 26 on ESPN’s rankings, plus No. 27 on both SI.com and CBSSports.com.

4)      Watch Tuesday post-practice interviews with Alvin Gentry, Kenrich Williams and Jahlil Okafor.

5)      Nickeil Alexander-Walker participated in a youth basketball clinic Tuesday, hosted by the Pelicans and Hancock Whitney.
