New Orleans native Robert Pack has been added to Byron Scott's staff as an assistant coach today. Pack was a high school basketball standout at Alfred Lawless High School, located in the Lower Ninth Ward of the city.

Pack also appeared in 28 games (4 starts) for his hometown NBA franchise during the Hornets' inaugural regular season in New Orleans, 2002-03. The University of Southern Cal product also played in four games during the club's first-round NBA playoff series against the Philadelphia 76ers.

As an NBA player, Pack is perhaps best known around the league as a member of the 1994 Denver Nuggets team that stunned the No. 1 seeded Seattle SuperSonics in the Western Conference playoffs. That Nuggets team was the first No. 8 seed to upset a No. 1 in NBA postseason history.
