Now in his third season with New Orleans, Kira Lewis Jr. has always been a well-liked member of the roster among his teammates. The point guard again demonstrated some of his positive traits by unselfishly committing to an effort to get his fellow third-year pro his favorite uniform number, which – if successful – would come directly off of Lewis’ back. The University of Alabama product is the subject of this week’s “24 Seconds” Q&A article.
Pelicans.com: What are your three favorite NBA road cities or arenas?
Lewis: Minnesota, Utah and Detroit.
Pelicans.com: Three favorite sports other than basketball?
Lewis: Football, baseball and boxing.
Pelicans.com: What are your three favorite meals?
Lewis: Pizza, roast macaroni and chicken, steak.
Pelicans.com: Who are the three best-dressed Pelicans?
Lewis: Brandon Ingram, Jaxson Hayes and Garrett Temple.
Pelicans.com: Is there a reason you have the number 13? Was it given to you or did you choose it?
Lewis: Yeah, I chose 13 because I was 13th pick, and (the Pelicans) didn’t have No. 2 at the time, so I just picked number 13.
Pelicans.com: We heard Naji Marshall would love to have that number.
Lewis: I tried to give it to him, but there were a whole lot of complications. I’m still trying to give it to him. Maybe I give it to him for Christmas, maybe it’s for his birthday. Never know.
