24 Seconds presented by Ibotta: Biggest Pelicans jokester

He was already informally “voted” the funniest player on the New Orleans roster by his teammates, so it’s probably not a big surprise that third-year forward Naji Marshall was also the choice as the club’s biggest jokester. That’s the topic of this week’s “24 Seconds” article on Pelicans.com.

Among your teammates, who’s most likely to play a practical joke on someone?

Willy Hernangomez: “Naji Marshall is joking around every day, making fun (of people) with Jose Alvarado. Those two are always funny.”

Brandon Ingram: “Me. I go to the extreme.”

Herb Jones: “Jose. For example, if you have something in your locker and he gets to it before you get to your locker, it might be gone. You know he likes to steal things.” [laughs]

Kira Lewis Jr.: “Naji. I could see him (filling) someone’s car (with popcorn), like if a rookie doesn’t do something he’s supposed to do. Naji would actually do it.”

Naji Marshall: “Trey Murphy.”

Trey Murphy: “Probably Naji. He’s done a lot of stuff where I’ve had to retaliate. I was going to say myself, but then I realized that it’s always me having to retaliate. He does it first. One thing he’s done is use my shower shoes. My shoes were soaking wet, so I said, ‘Bro, did you use my shower shoes?’ He said, ‘Yeah bro, it’s my fault.’ I was pretty irked by that.” [smiles]

Garrett Temple: “It’s a tie between Jose Alvarado and Naji Marshall. And they’d probably play a joke on each other.”

Jonas Valanciunas: “Trey. He likes those things.”

Zion Williamson: “That would be Naji.”
