Shayne Whittington Plays In His First D-League Game

In his first game as a member of the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, Shayne Whittington was able to make contributions to the club right away.

Whittington, who was used sparingly as a member of the Pacers due to a crowded front court, saw 18 minutes of action, scored five points, and had four rebounds. He shot 2-of-4 from the field, and even dished out an assist.

Unfortunately, the Mad Ants lost the game 103-94 to the Iowa Energy. But on the bride side, Whittington got valuable playing time, which should aid his development as a player.

It was announced on Wednesday that Whittington would be designated to play as a member of the D-League Mad Ants, a choice that was made so that he could get more playing time. That goal was certainly accomplished Wednesday night; his 18 minutes were more than he had played in a game with Indiana all season.
