Game Rewind: Pacers 111, Trail Blazers 123

Instant Rewind

Indiana's six-game winning streak came to an end, as the Pacers fell to the Portland Trailblazers 123-111 at the Moda Center. The Pacers have now lost seven straight in Portland.

Indiana got off to a quick start, jumping out to a 10-0 lead within the game's first two minutes. The Pacers hit 10 of their first 14 shots and held a 23-14 lead midway through the opening period. Behind 11 points from C.J. Miles, Indiana led 31-28 at the end of one.

The story of the second quarter was Pacers forward Chase Budinger. The long range specialist hit two 3-pointers and scored 10 total points to carry Indiana through the period. Shooting 51% from the floor, the Pacers never trailed in the first half.

Portland came out of the half a different team. The third quarter belonged to the home team until the final three minutes of the third quarter. The Pacers were down seven, but used a 6-0 run to get within a point. After a timeout, Portland responded with a 6-0 run of its own to go back up seven. Hot shooting defined the period for the Trailblazers, as they scored 41 in the quarter to lead 97-90 heading into the fourth.

In the early stages of the final quarter, Portland stretched its lead to 10, but Indiana didn't go away. The Pacers managed to cut the deficit to four with four minutes left. In response, Portland's Allen Crabbe made a triple and Mason Plumlee finished at the rim, pushing the lead back to nine, effectively shutting the door on the Pacers' chances.

Miles was Indiana's leading man tonight and continues to have a strong season. He scored a team-high 27, sinking eight threes in the process. After not making a field goal a night ago, George Hill righted the ship, scoring 18 on 7-of-17 shooting.

After a fantastic November where he was named Eastern Conference Player of the Month, Paul George struggled against Portland. He scored just 11 points, shooting 4-of-17 from the floor and 0-of-9 from beyond the arc.

Portland's C.J. McCollum and Damian Lillard were too much for Indiana to handle. The pair combined for 47 points, making eight 3-pointers between them. Allen Crabbe led Portland's bench with 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting.
