Matchup

The Pacers are in desperate need of a win entering the final five games of their season. After dropping a double overtime thriller in Cleveland on Sunday night, the Pacers have now lost four straight and six of their last seven.

On Tuesday, when the team will celebrate the teams of the 2010s on the final Decade Game of the season, the Pacers (37-40) will look to get another epic performance from the player whose bobblehead will be distributed to all fans in attendance: Paul George.

On Sunday, George had arguably the best game of his entire career, going toe-to-toe with LeBron James and nearly notching a triple-double with 43 points, nine assits, and nine rebounds. The points and assists were both season highs for George, who deposited 19 of his team-high 43 in the two overtime periods.

The performance, however, was not enough to topple the Cavaliers, who had a monster performance from James. Playing a game-high 52 minutes, James scored 41 points while grabbing 16 rebounds and passing out 11 assists.

With the Raptors visiting on Tuesday, the Pacers will need to get a similar showing in terms of intensity and fight as Toronto (47-30) enters the meeting one of the hottest teams in the NBA.

The Raps have won eight of their last nine games, two of which came against the Pacers. Despite still not having Kyle Lowry (wrist surgery) back, Toronto has found a groove and successfully integrated trade acquisitions Serge Ibaka and P.J. Tucker into its lineup.

At the moment, the Pacers are tied with the Miami Heat for the eighth and final spot in the Eastern Conference playoffs with matching 37-40 records. The Heat, however, own the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Pacers, leaving all five of Indiana's remaining games with a must-win feel as the season winds down.

Projected Starters

Pacers: PG - Jeff Teague, SG - Monta Ellis, SF - Paul George, PF - Thaddeus Young, C - Myles Turner
Raptors: PG - Cory Joseph, SG - DeMar DeRozan, SF - DeMarre Carroll, PF - Serge Ibaka, C - Jonas Valanciunas

Last Meeting

March 31, 2017: The Pacers took a 60-59 lead in the third quarter while visiting the Raptors, but Toronto charged back, going on to win 111-110 at the Air Canada Centre.

"In that third quarter, we definitely came out flat, and they got rolling," Pacers forward Paul George said.

Toronto pulled away thanks to the play of DeMar DeRozan, who racked up a game-high 40 points while grabbing nine rebounds. In the paint, Jonas Valanciunas was a handful, grabbing 17 rebounds.

George finished the game with a team-high 28 points while Jeff Teague pitched in 19 points and five assists.

Noteworthy

  • The Pacers hold a 45-35 edge in the all-time series between the two teams.
  • Toronto ousted the Pacers from the playoffs last season and has now beat Indiana in four straight regular season meetings and nine of its last 10.
  • Tuesday will be Lance Stephenson's first home game with the Pacers since Game 5 of the 2014 Eastern Conference Finals.
