Pacers Guard George Hill Teams with Kids Against Hunger

Official Release

October 22, 2013

Over 350 volunteers, in five one-hour shifts, will join Pacers guard George Hill in a community outreach project to benefit Kids Against Hunger at Bankers Fieldhouse on Monday, Oct. 28 as part of NBA Cares Week. Last year Hill led a group that packed over 45,000 meals for needy children and this year he is looking to top that number.

Among the volunteers on Monday are employees and friends of Pacers Sports & Entertainment, local media personalities, sponsors and partners of the Pacers, the NCAA, the NFHS, the Indiana Sports Corp, and others.

Kids Against Hunger (KAH) is a humanitarian food-aid organization whose mission is to A.) Feed the hungry at home, B.) Feed the starving abroad and C.) Teach our children the power of volunteerism. KAH packages high-nutritious, life-saving meals for starving children both in the USA and in developing countries.

The cause is very close to George Hill’s heart as he traveled to Haiti this past summer to distribute food to local villages and hosted basketball camps for local children while serving KAH meals each day.
