Pacers Sports & Entertainment News ReleaseDec. 6, 2006

For the second consecutive season, Conseco Fieldhouse, home of the Indiana Pacers and Indiana Fever, was ranked as the No. 1 venue in the National Basketball Association according to the second annual Sports Business Journal/Sports Business Daily Reader Survey.

Conseco Fieldhouse ranked first with 14.2 percent of the votes, beating out STAPLES Center (L.A. Clippers and L.A. Lakers), Madison Square Garden (New York Knicks), American Airlines Arena (Dallas Mavericks) and Charlotte Bobcats Arena (Charlotte Bobcats).

In addition, The Ultimate Sports Road Trip continues to visit venues, especially those that have been remodeled or recently constructed. Peter Farrell and Andrew Kulyk, both from Buffalo, N.Y., embarked on The Ultimate Sports Road Trip in 1998 and have visited all the venues for each team in Major League Baseball, the NBA, the National Football League and the National Hockey League.

The duo, who still rank Conseco Fieldhouse as the best venue overall, recently completed their updated journey after visiting the University of Phoenix Stadium (Arizona Cardinals, NFL) in Glendale, Ariz., Busch Stadium (St. Louis Cardinals, MLB) in St. Louis, Mo., and Ford Center (New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets, NBA) in Oklahoma City, Okla.

“The Ultimate Sports Road Trip has recently concluded a re-scoring and re-evaluation of all 122 franchises in the four major sports, based on our personal visits to each of the teams in a journey that began in 1998,” said Farrell and Kulyk. “Based on our criteria, Conseco Fieldhouse has once again withstood scrutiny to be named the “best of the best” in the four major sports. Everything about Conseco Fieldhouse is top notch, a sparkling venue in a sparkling city. We will beat a path to your door for the Indiana Pacers experience anytime!”
