Boyle Named 2016 Indiana Sportscaster Of The Year

Mark Boyle, the Indiana Pacers radio network play-by-play announcer, has been named the National Sports Media Association’s Indiana Sportscaster of the Year for the third year in a row.

This is the fifth time Boyle, in his 29th year as voice of the Pacers, has taken home the NSMA honor.

The Indiana Sportswriters and Sportscasters Hall of Fame member is known not just for broadcasting the Pacers, but having an eclectic array of interests outside of basketball, such as taking summer sabbaticals. One summer he worked as a barista at a local coffee shop and most recently, he helped mentor aspiring sportscasters at the Cape Cod Summer League.

He wrote several blog posts describing his summer experience: Boyle's Summer Blog »

You can hear Boyle announce every Indiana Pacers game on the Pacers Radio Network/93.5/1070 The Fan. He is joined over the air for home games by legendary former Pacers coach and Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame member Bobby "Slick" Leonard, and is occasionally joined by former Pacers player Austin Croshere on select away broadcasts.
