thumbnail-image: Narrowly missing the playoffs with the Jazz in the 2012-13, Jefferson was one of the most sought after free agents heading into the offseason. In July of 2013, Jefferson signed a three-year contract with the then-Charlotte Bobcats. His arrival was delayed by an ankle sprain, but by January, Jefferson was fully recovered and ready to make an impact.

thumbnail-image: In the 2013-14 season, after being named the Eastern Conference Player of the Month for his performances in March and April, Jefferson was ready for the playoffs. However, in Game 1 of the opening series against the Miami Heat, Jefferson suffered a plantar fasciitis injury. That injury would cause him to miss Game 4 as the Bobcats fell 0-4 to Miami.
thumbnail-image: The 2014-15 season looked promising for the newly renamed Charlotte Hornets, but that was not the case. Battling a groin strain and eventually a strained calf, Jefferson’s averages were the lowest they had been since 2006 (16.6 points per game).
thumbnail-image: In his final year in Charlotte, the 2015-16 season, Jefferson found new life coming off of the bench for the Hornets. Playing as a reserve allowed Jefferson to play just 23.3 minutes per game, his lowest average since his sophomore NBA season, while still producing at a high level, averaging 12 points and 6.4 rebounds per game. At age 31 and with a bevy of experience, Jefferson figures to be a veteran presence in the locker room and a calming force on the floor.
