Nuggets to Begin Summer League Slate

LAS VEGAS — At long last, today the Nuggets open their Las Vegas Summer League schedule with a contest against the Minnesota Timberwolves at 7 p.m.

Thursday afternoon, the team went through its final summer minicamp practice at the basketball complex at UNLV, which houses, among other venues, the Thomas & Mack Center and Cox Pavilion, where NBA Summer League games will be played.

“I think the guys are just ready to start playing,” Nuggets summer league coach Ryan Bowen said. “I just sensed an excitement in the building, in the gym, which was fun to see. There was good energy in the gym, and overall guys are just ready to get going.”

The game marks the debut of rookie draft picks Christian Braun, Peyton Watson, and Ismael Kamagate. All three are expected to get significant time on the court, as the Nuggets look to start the tournament off on the right foot.

It is the first of four games in eight days for the Nuggets. All teams are promised a fifth game as well. The opponent and day/time of that last contest is determined after the first four are played.
