Everything you need to know about Nuggets Opening Night

October 24 is a date worth saving in your calendar. 

Not only does a new season begin for the Denver Nuggets, but the franchise will celebrate its first-ever NBA title with Ring Night and the Championship Banner Raising. This is history in the making. You don’t want to miss it. 

There's a lot to be excited about as a Nuggets fan all throughout the big night—headline guests, fun activities, and ample giveaways. Here's a comprehensive guide of what to look out for on opening night. 

Pre-Game Festivities 

At 2:00 p.m. MT, the Nuggets will host an outdoor activation located at the Grand Atrium Plaza, just outside of the front entrance of Ball Arena. 

UCHealth will have its own station in support of youth basketball in the Denver area. There, they'll be handing out prizes, including face fans with super-mascot Rocky branding. 

Jim Beam will also have their own backyard-style setup. It will feature a cocktail cart, samples, benches, high top tables, games, and a photo backdrop for fans to relax, take photos, and enjoy some drinks before Ring Night. 

At 2:00 p.m. MT, Starry, the soda brand, will also hold its own outdoor activation featuring a DJ. This will be located in the Camry South Parking Lot, located behind Ball Arena.  

Nuggets' great, Marcus Camby, is set to make an appearance at Starry's station on Tuesday afternoon. 

Fans will also be able to sample Starry products, shoot some hoops on Starry's Shoot Your Shot Court, pick up merchandise at the Swag Studio, and explore Starry's Content Studio. Ball’s Team Aluminum will also be present to help fans recycle! 

At 3:00 p.m. MT, Altitude Sports Radio will begin broadcasting live inside Ball Arena on 92.5 FM. Nate Kreckman and Andy Lindahl will be hosting the station's two-hour pregame preview near the Tacoma display. Then, Mark Bertagnolli will host the official pre-game broadcast. 

TNT's broadcast begins at 4:00 p.m. MT at the Auraria Campus, just across the street from Ball Arena. TNT's Emmy Award-winning show, Inside the NBA, featuring Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith, Shaquille O'Neale, and Ernie Johnson will give their pre-game thoughts on Denver's championship celebration, the NBA season ahead, and of course, a preview of the big opening night matchup between the Los Angeles Lakers and Nuggets. 

Ring Night / Season Opener Information 

Ball Arena doors will open at 3:30 p.m. MT. No bags larger than 4 inches by 6 inches by 1.5 inches will be permitted into Ball Arena.

Fans should be in their seats by 4:45 p.m. MT for the Ring Night and Banner Raising Ceremony. 

Nuggets players and personnel will receive their rings, and the franchise’s first-ever NBA championship banner will be raised to the rafters. Fans can hear the full Ring Ceremony and Banner Raising on 92.5 FM

At 5:30 p.m. MT, the ball will be tipped, and Denver's 2023-24 regular season is officially underway with the home opener against the Los Angeles Lakers, Presented by Ball. Jason Kosmicki will be calling the game for Altitude Radio on 92.5 FM as soon as the ball is tipped. 

Outside of the arena, TNT will host a Watch Party beginning at 5:30 p.m. MT at Auraria Campus. Fans will be able to take in what should be a riveting matchup between two of the best teams in the Western Conference, the Nuggets and Lakers, from tip-off until the sound of the final buzzer. 

All throughout Ball Arena, there will be multiple activations located at various concourses. 

Fans can purchase replica Mini Trophies of the Larry O’Brien championship trophy for $25 at the Altitude Authentics shop. These mini trophies are great pieces of memorabilia to celebrate the Nuggets’ historical season. 

At Sections 144 and 367, UCHealth will give fans the ability to relive Denver's championship celebration through VR (Virtual Reality).  

At Section 144, Ball Corporation will host a championship banner green screen photobooth. The first 150 fans to come by will receive a limited edition Ball Aluminum Cup®, highlighting the Championship.

At Section 104, the Youth Basketball department will host a giveaway and photo opportunity. 

At Section 140, there will be a sale of signed memorabilia from Nuggets alumni and other unique Nuggets items. All proceeds will go to Kroenke Sports Charities. 

Jim Beam will have their own set-up at Jim Beam Bar Section 146 featuring a photobooth and giveaways of Nuggets co-branded swag. Samples of Jim Beam products will also be offered between Sections 202 and 204

After the sound of the final buzzer...  

Fans can head to the exits and make their way to Auraria Campus, across the street from Ball Arena. There, at 8:00 p.m. MT, TNT will host a post-game outdoor concert featuring Grammy Award-winning electronic duo, The Chainsmokers, best known for the single, "Closer," which peaked at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 music chart. 

Irish singer-songwriter, Dermot Kennedy, will also be performing at Auraria Campus. Kennedy has had numerous hits, including singles “Giants” and “Outnumbered,” peak on the UK Singles chart. 

One last thing. 

The Giveaways 

Outside of the arena, limited edition Starry Championship Cans will be distributed at fan exits.  

LED Wristbands will be placed on fan seats in Ball Arena. The chorus of LED lights should set the tone for the Nuggets' historical night and bring in the brand-new NBA season, a season in which Denver will look to defend its championship.
