DND in China | Niki's Blog

Hi There, Nuggets Nation!

This is Niki reporting to you from Hong Kong! It's been quite a busy journey so far. We've enjoyed taking part in TV studio interviews, filmed a commercial celebrating the holidays and the Chinese New Year, performed on stage for hundreds of our fans, participated in a flash mob, and even made time for some shopping!

It's hard to believe today is already our last day in Hong Kong. We started things off right with a fabulous breakfast at our hotel and then said goodbye to the Central District. We decided to spend our last morning doing a little site seeing. On our way out of the city, our guide, Henry, shared some information about Hong Kong. He is an endless wealth of knowledge and we learned so much about his culture and the city's history.

With many twists and turns up the mountain, we made our way to The Peak. It is a must if you are spending time in Hong Kong! The Peak overlooks the entire city and Victoria Harbour. The view is absolutely breathtaking and rivals New York City with its spectacular cityscape. I could have stayed there for hours taking it all in.

I've traveled internationally with the Denver Nuggets Dancers a few times before and it's always in these quiet, simple moments of beauty I find myself so thankful. Thankful to share a journey with my amazing teammates and friends and thankful to meet such incredible people half a world away.

As we said goodbye to beautiful Hong Kong, we took a few last looks over the city and headed toward the airport. Our backdrop for the drive was phenomenal; ocean, mountains, and sky as far as the eye could see. Once we arrived, we, reluctantly, said farewell to our very gracious and hospitable hosts; which had become like family during our quick trip. Finally, we boarded the plane and set our sights on the states. It was an experience of a lifetime and one filled with memories I will always cherish. As our teammate Ariel so perfectly said it, "It's such a privilege to do what we love with whom we love."

Thank you so much for sharing this exciting adventure with us! We'll see you later this week back home at Pepsi Center! Go Nuggets!

Your DND,

Niki :)
