All Colorado residents who make a $45 donation to Kroenke Sports Charities will be eligible to purchase Denver Nuggets signature license plate. Kroenke Sports Charities will issue an approval certificate or certificate pin confirming the donation has been received. Standard specialty license plate fees and taxes (annually) as assessed by your county DMV will apply.

Kroenke Sports Charities is the official charity of your Denver Nuggets. Kroenke Sports Charities is a Colorado based 501c3 organization committed to improving the lives of families and children in Colorado. Our strategic community investment is in many forms: support of education, health and youth sports programs, donation of autographed merchandise and tickets, appearances by our players, coaches, alumni and the personal service of our employees. Funds from purchasers of the Special Group license plates will be used to help fund non-profit programs and services in Colorado.

Can I purchase a Denver Nuggets license plate if I don't have an approval certificate?

No, the DMV will not issue Denver Nuggets license plates to anyone without a Denver Nuggets approval certificate or pin.

Do I have to wait until my current vehicle registration is expired to purchase a Denver Nuggets license plate?

No, you may replace your license plate at any time.

My current vehicle registration expires in a week, what can I do?

Go ahead and renew your current license plates. Once you receive your approval certificate you can take it to the DMV and transfer your registration to the Denver Nuggets plates.

Do I need to make a $45 donation every year when I pay my vehicle registration taxes and fees?

No, it is a onetime donation. DMV specialty license plate fees apply annually.

Yes, because Denver Nuggets license plates are issued via the State's "Print-on-Demand" program. License plate orders are generated by transactions performed in county Motor Vehicle offices and online, and are manufactured and mailed to customer(s) on demand within 3 weeks from the license plate order confirmation date from the DMV (receipt date).

If I want to have Denver Nuggets license plates on more than one vehicle do I need to complete more than one application?

Yes, you will need to complete an application and make a $45 donation for each set of license plates you purchase. One set of plates per vehicle consists of (1) front plate and (1) rear plate.

If I want to purchase a Denver Nuggets license plate for someone else could the approval certificate be sent to a different name and address than on the vehicle registration?

Yes, the approval certificate (and the certificate PIN entry) has to match the name of the person who will be using it. An approval certificate (certificate PIN) can be purchased as a gift for someone else, for as long as it will be used to register a vehicle in the same name, as shown on approval certificate (associated to a certificate PIN).

Can I purchase a Denver Nuggets license plate for a motorcycle, truck or a motor home?

Yes, Denver Nuggets license plates are available for motorcycles, trucks and motor homes.

Can I get a Denver Nuggets license plate for a commercial vehicle?

No, per Colorado statue signature license plates are not allowed on commercial vehicles.

Can I get a Denver Nuggets license plate for a registered trailer?

No, Denver Nuggets license plates cannot be placed on registered trailers.

If I want to purchase a Denver Nuggets license plate may I keep my existing license plate numbers and letters?

Yes, if the vehicle is currently registered with personalized license plates and you want to keep the personalized configuration. Otherwise - no, a new standard configuration license plate serial number will be issued and assigned to the vehicle registration record.

Why does the Denver Nuggets logo not appear on a personalized license plate?

Per Colorado State Law logos cannot appear on personalized license plates.

If I currently own a personalized license plate and now wish to purchase a Denver Nuggets license plate may I transfer my personalized plate information onto the Denver Nuggets license plate?

If you have a current issued personalized plate and want to convert it to a Denver Nuggets license plate you will need to reapply and request the transfer of the personalization and pay all the necessary DMV taxes and fees. Please contact your local DMV for more information.

I currently have Handicap Plates on my vehicle. Am I able to keep my handicap plates and still have a Denver Nuggets license plate?

No, you will not be able to keep the Handicap plates on the vehicle that you put on the Denver Nuggets license plate. You can have the Handicap plate alone or the Denver Nuggets license plate with Handicap Placards. Contact your DMV for assistance and the application for Handicap Placards.

If I live out of state may I purchase a Denver Nuggets license plate?

No, Denver Nuggets license plates are only available to Colorado residents. For dual or part-time Colorado residence, where a vehicle is titled in another state, but is desired to be registered in Colorado, a person will be able to request Denver Nuggets plates with a approval certificate (or certificate PIN).

I have a license plate collection. May I get a sample of the Denver Nuggets license plate to add to my collection?

No, unfortunately the DMV cannot issue sample license plates.
