Hundreds of thousands of Nuggets fans will be downtown to celebrate, so bring only the necessities and leave the rest at home, including the following:

  • Anything Illegal to Consume/Use in Public
    • Alcohol, marijuana and illegal drugs
    • Weapons (i.e., knives, pepper spray, stun-guns, any concealed weapons, firearms, etc.)
  • Anything That Takes Up a Lot of Space
    • Chairs and seating of any kind
    • Blankets, tarps, beach towels, etc.
    • Inflatable objects (beach balls, latex balloons, etc.)
    • Umbrellas
    • Hard case containers (coolers, briefcases, etc.)
    • Large backpacks, suitcases, beach bags, equipment bags, etc.
    • Grills or propane
  • Anything That Could Disrupt the Event

9 am: Pre-rally activities begin with live music, Nuggets season highlight reels, live video from the parade, and more!

After the parade arrives, at about noon, the City and County of Denver presents a program honoring the 2023 NBA Champions featuring:

The rally is expected to last about an hour, with all Nuggets festivities ending by 2 p.m.

 

The Action:

The Rally will take place on a stage on the top steps of the City and County Building at Civic Center Park, 101 14th Ave. Video screens will be positioned on Bannock St. and in the park, showing live shots from the parade and entertainment on the stage.

City and County Building and Denver County Courts are Open

Those who need to conduct business or access courtrooms in the City and County Building must use the South Entrance located along 14th Ave., which is ADA accessible. Please allow for plenty of time and be advised that access and parking may be difficult during the parade.

 

Parade:

Designated areas with limited space for individuals with disabilities impacting their mobility will be provided at the following two locations along the parade route:

  • 17th and Wynkoop on the SW side of the street in front of Union Station - accessible by public transportation at Union Station
  • SE corner of 17th and Curtis - accessible by public transportation at Convention Center Station

The closest accessible parking lot is at the Denver Performing Arts Complex Parking Garage located on Arapahoe St between 13th and 14th Streets. These parking and viewing areas will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to expected road closures, we recommend arriving by 7 a.m. for best access to these viewing areas.

 

Rally:

There will be a designated area for those who are deaf or hard of hearing, and limited seating will be provided for individuals with disabilities impacting their mobility located in front of the City and County Building on the south end of Bannock Street, accessible from 14th Avenue. This area will have American Sign Language interpreters. Open captions will be projected on the video screens located on Bannock Street and in Civic Center Park.

 

This limited area will be made available on a first-come, first-served basis. Anyone wishing to utilize this area should plan to arrive at the rally site no later than 10:30 a.m.

 

The closest accessible parking to the rally site will be in the Cultural Center Complex Garage located on West 12th Avenue between Broadway and Acoma. Once in the garage, use the northwest elevators to exit on the Art Museum Plaza. From there, make a left on 13th Avenue and then a right on Bannock and proceed to the viewing area just across 14th Avenue on Bannock.

 

American Sign Language interpreters will be included on the Denver 8 TV broadcast of the rally, which is only available on Comcast channels 8 and 880 and only in the City & County of Denver. A livestream will be available at Denver8.tv.

Please note that the following are the expected closures and service disruptions for the event. Additional closures or service changes may occur to manage the flow of traffic.

 

Road Closures

The following roads will be closed and parking unavailable during the specified timeframes.

  • Wednesday, June 14th
    • Bannock Street from Colfax to 14th Avenue, 6 a.m. to midnight
  • Thursday, June 15th
    • 14th Ave between Delaware Street and Broadway, 6 a.m. to midnight
    • Bannock Street from 13th Avenue to Colfax Avenue, 6 a.m. to midnight
    • Cherokee Street from Colfax to 13th Avenue, 6 a.m. – 5 p.m.
    • 17th Street from Wynkoop to Broadway, 7 a.m. - noon
    • Broadway from 17th Ave to 13th Ave, 7 a.m. – noon
    • 13th from Cherokee to Broadway, 7 a.m. - noon

 

RTD Service Changes

The Regional Transportation District (RTD) is committed to ensuring fans and daily commuters can get to where they are going on the day of the celebration. Bus and rail services will change to accommodate the parade and rally, and related street closures, so attendees and commuters should make note of the following changes:

  • Downtown bus routes will detour beginning at 7 a.m.:
    • 0, 1, 6, 8, 9, 10, 15, 15L, 16, 19, 20, 28, 32, 38, 43, 44, 48, 52 and 83L.
  • Service on the L Light Rail line will be suspended beginning at 7 a.m.
  • The D and H Light Rail lines will terminate at the Theatre District Station.
  • Civic Center Station will close to bus traffic no later than 8 a.m.
  • Service on the Free MallRide will be suspended beginning at 7 a.m.

The RTD Sales Outlet located in Civic Center Station will remain open.

Plan Ahead and Arrive Early

  • Plan your route ahead of time and arrive early.
  • Hundreds of thousands of fans are coming so expect heavy traffic and limited parking.
  • If you drive to the celebration, park outside of the core downtown area and walk to the parade route and the rally.
  • No vehicles will be allowed to cross the route once it is closed no later than 7 a.m.

If you take RTD

  • Prepare for large crowds and take note of changes to bus and rail services around the parade route and Civic Center Park.
  • Check the RTD website before you travel to view schedules.
  • Consider purchasing a Day Pass on so you can take unlimited rides to and from the celebration.
  • Download the RTD MyRide app for easy, convenient fare purchase and storage. Customers can also purchase RTD tickets in the Uber, Lyft and Transit apps.
  • Use RTD's Trip Planner and Next Ride apps to help you plan and navigate your trip in real time.
  • Sign up for service alerts for up-to-date details about service detours or disruptions.
  • Download the Transit Watch app to report any safety or security concerns to RTD Transit Police.

If you bike

  • Don't forget your helmet and bike lock to secure your bicycle.
  • Parking: Limited bicycle racks for parking at the celebration will be available at the Wellington Webb Building Plaza starting at 8:00 am on the day of the Nuggets Champions Celebration.

Lyft + Lime scooter/bike information

The City of Denver’s micromobility partners Lyft and Lime will be staging scooter/bike parking at the Wellington Webb Building Plaza starting at 8:00 am on the day of the Nuggets Champions Celebration where personnel will be available to assist you.

 

Large crowds of Nuggets Nation are expected to attend the Nuggets Celebration so please ride safely and exercise consideration when parking your scooter.

  • Follow the rules of the road.
  • Do not ride on sidewalks unless parking or disembarking.
  • Do not park scooters on streets or in the middle of sidewalks.
  • Lyft and Lime will be providing riders with notifications and updates to maximize safety and convenience.

 

  • Bring and drink lots of water. Water will not be readily available, so be sure to bring your own.
  • Wear sunscreen!
  • Wear a hat: Nuggets hats, sun hats or party hats preferred.

 

  • Be alert to your surroundings and other people.
  • Trust your instincts. If something seems wrong, act appropriately.
  • Be aware of those around you and change your path or enter a busy business if needed.
  • If you see something, say something! Call 911 when you see a dangerous situation or if you are in danger yourself.

 

What time does everything start?

Parade: The parade starts at 10 a.m. near Union Station at 17th and Wynkoop and end at noon at Civic Center Park. Related street closures will start no later than 7 a.m.

 

Rally: The entertainment will start at 9 a.m. on the stage located on the steps of the City and County Building. At 10 a.m., live video of the parade will be projected on the giant screens positioned on Bannock Street and in the park.

 

What is the Parade route?

The parade starts near Union Station at 17th and Wynkoop, proceeds down 17th to Broadway where it heads south and ends at Civic Center Park.

How do I get to the Celebration and where do I park?

With large crowds expected downtown, we recommend that you leave home early and take public transportation or alternative modes of travel (ride shares, bikes, scooters).

If you drive, park away from the core downtown area and walk to the parade route and rally site at Civic Center Park.

 

I’d like to ride my bike, is there a safe place to lock it and leave it?

Yes. Limited bicycle racks for parking at the celebration will be available at the Wellington Webb Building Plaza starting at 8:00 am on the day of the Nuggets Champions Celebration.

 

Will there be seating? Can I bring my own chair?

No seating will be allowed along the Parade route or at The Rally at Civic Center Park.

Hundreds of thousands of fans are expected to gather for the Parade and Rally and it will be standing room only. At the height of the Celebration, attendees will be shoulder to shoulder for an extended period of time and it will be difficult to navigate in the large crowd.

 

Will I be able to attend if I use a mobility device?

Yes, there will be accommodations for both the parade and the rally.

 

Parade

Designated areas with limited space for individuals with disabilities impacting their mobility will be provided at the following two locations along the parade route:

I have a court date that day - should I still show up?

Yes! Denver County Courts will be open. During the Rally the public must enter the City and County Building through the south entrance located along 14th Ave (ADA accessible).
