The Hornets have agreed to trade Nick Richards and a future second-round pick to the Suns, in a deal first reported by ESPN’s Sham Charania. Phoenix will send Josh Okogie and three second-round picks to Charlotte in the exchange.

The Suns bolster their depth by adding Richards, who is expected to serve as a backup center. The 7-footer is averaging 11.3 points, 10.2 rebounds and 1.7 blocks in nine starts with the Hornets this season. Selected in the second round of the 2020 NBA Draft, Richards has spent his 4-year career in Charlotte.
Okogie has appeared in 25 games for the Suns this season with one start. The 27-year-old guard is averaging 6.0 points and 2.9 assists in 2024-25.
