Blazers, Stotts agree to contract extension

Just one day after being eliminated from the playoffs by the Golden State Warriors, the Trail Blazers and coach Terry Stotts have agreed to a multiyear contract extension.

The news, which was confirmed by the team, was first reported by ESPN.

Stotts has led Portland to six straight playoff appearances in his seven seasons at the helm, holding a 325-249 record. During that span, the Blazers have won 50 or more games three times, including last season’s 53-29 finish. Stotts trails only legendary Blazers coach Dr. Jack Ramsay in the all-time wins category (453). Additionally, Stotts ranks third in team history in playoff wins (19-32), trailing Rick Adelman (36-33) and Ramsay (29-30).
