The Brooklyn Nets will be without guard Cam Thomas for at least 3 weeks, the team announced Wednesday.

Thomas has been diagnosed with a left hamstring strain and will be reevaluated in three weeks.

This season, Thomas is averaging 24.7 points, 3.2 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game and ranks No. 14 in the league in scoring.

Thomas last played in the Nets’ 128-120 win in Golden State on Nov. 26 as the team rallied from an 18-point deficit to beat the Warriors. He finished with 23 points on 6-for-11 shooting (3-for-7 on 3-pointers) while adding three rebounds and an assist as well.

The Nets will likely turn to Cameron Johnson (18.3 ppg) and Dennis Schröder (18 ppg) to pick up the scoring slack for the team while Thomas mends. Brooklyn is 8-10 this season but just 1/2 game behind the Miami Heat for the No. 6 as it has been one of the more surprising teams this season.

Six of the Nets’ next 11 games will be at home and should Thomas come back one month from now, he’d be in the lineup for the team’s Dec. 27 game against the San Antonio Spurs. After that game, the Nets play nine of their next 12 games on the road.
