The Memphis Grizzlies are fighting to be the top team in the Western Conference, while the Sacramento Kings are trying to get back on track. With two elite point guards squaring off, here are three things to watch for.
1. Ja Morant is leading the Grizzlies’ surge: Morant has played in four games since returning from his hip injury, and the Grizzlies went 3-1 in those games. Their only loss was against the scorching-hot Mavericks. The Grizzlies are 7-3 in their last 10 games and 14-8 overall.
2. The Kings are healthy: The Kings were without DeMar DeRozan, Domantas Sabonis, and Malik Monk for different portions in their past ten games. The Kings have struggled during that span with seven losses. Now that the team is healthy, the Kings can get back on track.
3. De’Aaron Fox can go toe-to-toe with Morant: Fox has had to propel the Kings’ offense himself at times, and he’s on pace to have the best season of his career. Fox is averaging 27.2 points, 6.0 assists, and 5.0 rebounds per game with back-to-back games of 49 and 60 points last month.
