The Trail Blazers had two days to match or reject the Mavericks’ offer once it is signed.
Thybulle averaged 7.4 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.7 steals and shot 38.8% from 3-point land in 22 games with Portland last season. Thybulle was acquired from the 76ers at the trade deadline in a three-team deal with the Hornets.
A former All-Defensive second-team member in 2020-21 and 2021-22, Thybulle saw his role with the 76ers shrink drastically last season. He bounced back nicely, though, after being dealt to the Blazers and remains a capable perimeter defender and slasher.
The Blazers are still working through what to do with star guard Damian Lillard, whom the team acknowledged has asked for a trade. Aside from that, Portland’s other big move of the offseason was reaching a reported five-year deal with forward Jerami Grant.
