Lance Stephenson out indefinitely as injury bug hits New Orleans Pelicans

NBA.com staff reports

Things keep going from bad to worse for the Pelicans.

The only winless team in the Western Conference (0-6) announced that guard Lance Stephenson was diagnosed with a groin injury that will require surgery. An MRI performed today confirmed the injury. A timetable for his return will be announced at a later date.

The 6-5 Stephenson signed with New Orleans as a free agent in September. In six games this season, he has averaged 9.7 points, 4.8 assists and 3.3 rebounds in 27 minutes per game.
