Ball, who had just returned to the Bulls this season after a lengthy absence because of leg injuries, was hurt one week into the 2024-25 season in Chicago’s 126-123 victory against the Memphis Grizzlies. He went on to play 18 minutes in the game, finishing with six points and six assists.
The Bulls acquired Ball from New Orleans in a sign-and-trade deal prior to the 2021-22 season. He got off to a good start in Chicago, averaging 13 points and 5.1 assists while shooting 42.3% on 3-pointers over 35 games before being derailed.
