Bulls' Derrick Jones Jr. (thumb, knee) suffers setback, will return in 6-8 weeks

Chicago's reserve forward has been sidelined since Jan. 12 with a separate knee injury.

Bulls forward Derrick Jones Jr. will return in 6-8 weeks after fracturing his right thumb on Tuesday. 

Chicago Bulls forward Derrick Jones Jr. fractured his right index finger on Tuesday while working out at the Advocate Center, according to the team.

Jones has been sidelined since Jan. 12 after sustaining a bone bruise in his right knee in the Bulls’ 138-112 loss to the Brooklyn Nets.

Jones has been placed in a splint and is expected to return in 6-8 weeks. Jones could potentially return earlier with a protective splint.
