2021 Playoffs: West First Round | Suns vs. Lakers

Anthony Davis optimistic about Game 4 status despite sprained knee

Lakers star has dominated throughout wins in Games 2 and 3 vs. Suns.

Anthony Davis sprained his left knee in Game 3 vs. Phoenix, but don’t think the Lakers’ big envisions that injury putting his personal championship defense on hold.

“There’s no chance that I don’t go tomorrow,” Davis told media Saturday. “In my eyes, as a competitor, I think I’ll be out there.”

Davis, who is averaging 27.0 points, 9.3 rebounds and 2.3 blocks in three games vs. Phoenix, is listed as “questionable” on the injury report heading into Sunday’s Game 4 at Staples Center (3:30 ET; ABC).

During Frank Vogel’s pregame media availability, the Lakers head coach confirmed that Davis would be playing. He also mentioned Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, forced from Game 3 by a left knee bruise, would be a gametime decision.
