NETS to Host "An Evening of Chinese Culture" for Third Time

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J.—NETS Basketball will host its third annual An Evening of Chinese Culture when the NETS host the New Orleans Hornets at Prudential Center in Newark, NJ TOMORROW, Wednesday, February 9. The event’s festivities will begin at 5 p.m., while game time is 7 p.m. Round trip bus service to the game will be available from Chinatown in Manhattan.
In celebrating the Chinese New Year, An Evening of Chinese Culture will be held in conjunction with the Sino-American Culture and Arts Foundation, the Sino-American Friendship Association, and about 100 community organizations in the tri-state area.
The evening will showcase rich cultural traditions of China and feature an opening ceremony and a halftime performance that includes Chinese music and dance, performed by China’s world-renowned and award-winning Taiyuan Song and Dance Company and Taiyuan Acrobatics Troupe. In addition, there will be a post-game celebration consisting of both American and Chinese performances and several raffles.
This event is co-sponsored by China National Tourist Office New York, No-Jet-Lag, Dr. James Cui Skin Disease & Cosmetic Surgery Medical Center, China Eastern, Laozhongyi, Vonage, Peak, World Journal, and Sina.
“NETS Basketball is the perfect platform for An Evening of Chinese Culture as it will translate into increased understanding and friendship between the two cultures and will help accelerate momentum toward the relations of the two countries,” said Chinese American Business Development Center Chairman Peter Zhang.
