2017-18 Brooklyn Nets
The full slate of Nets uniforms for the 2017-18 season have been unveiled. The Icon and Association jerseys continue the crisp and clean look the team debuted with its arrival in Brooklyn, while the Statement and City jerseys call back to the franchise’s history and hometown. All four jerseys are available in the Swag Shop or to order online at NetsStore.com.
With the flexibility of the NBA's new uniform system, the Nets have made their black Icon jersey their primary uniform for home games at Barclays Center. With Nike taking over design and production of NBA uniforms for the 2017-18 season, changes in the uniform the Nets have worn since 2012 are more about substances than style. New cuts around the shoulders and neck allow for greater freedom of movement, and recycled materials make the jerseys lighter and able to remove moisture faster.
The crisp and clean white Brooklyn Nets uniform was a classic the day it was unveiled for the 2012-13 season, with its clean black lettering. For the 2017-18 season, the white jersey has been designated as the Association uniform. Like all jerseys in the 2017-18 uniform system, in-game jerseys include a jersey patch identifying the Nets' newest teammate, Infor, a global leader in industry-specific cloud software.
Calling back to the look that Dr. J made famous, the Statement jersey features a side panel with three stars on the jersey, reminiscent of the franchise's iconic Stars & Stripes uniforms from the championship ABA days. For the first time, the "BKLYN" designation appears on a Brooklyn Nets uniform, across the chest. On the shorts, the side panel continues down, featuring a vertical "NETS." All of these elements are set across a charcoal background that offers a cool departure from the team's standard color schemes.
Showcasing Brooklyn's spirit, the City jersey celebrates the borough's heritage with a design inspired by its most iconic landmark, the Brooklyn Bridge. The black uniform features a faint steel-gray wiring pattern, reminiscent of the distinct look of the bridge's steel cables. BROOKLYN NETS wraps around the numbers on the chest. The jersey's jock tag features the motto "Brooklyn Unite." Red, green, orange and yellow dots on the shorts represent the four subway lines that stop at the Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center station.
