We have a rare nine-game Tuesday night slate in the NBA tonight and plenty of options to bet on for player props.
Below, I have laid out three prop-bets that I’m playing, the case for each bet and the best books to find odds on those player props. Of course, we’ll be using the Action Labs Player Prop tool to compare our NBA projections to the props posted at a variety of sportsbooks.
NBA Player Props & Picks
Cade Cunningham, Over 28.5 PTS + REB + AST (-110)
|Nuggets vs. Pistons||Nuggets -7.5|
|Time | TV||7 p.m. ET | NBA League Pass|
The Detroit Pistons and the Denver Nuggets will play each other for the second time in three nights. The Nuggets won on their home floor 117-111 and tonight, the Nuggets head to Detroit where the Pistons look to avenge their loss.
In that first game, 2021 No. 1 overall pick Cade Cunningham finished with 18 points, five rebounds and eight assists. He will need to lead the way for the Pistons again tonight, this time with the home crowd behind him. In 18 home games this season, Cunningham is averaging 16.8 points, 5.8 rebounds and 5.8 assists compared to a 14.7/4.9/4.6 line on the road.
This play is more of a fade of on the Nuggets defense defending the point guard position. According to Hashtag basketball, the Nuggets are allowing opposing point guards to average 31 points, 9.8 assists and 5.4 rebounds.
Furthermore, the Nuggets’ defense has been subpar over the past five games. Per NBA Advanced Stats, the Nuggets are giving up 116.6 points per 100 possessions and rank 21st in opponent assists per 100 possessions over that span. I love this as a spot for Cunningham to be the catalyst for the Pistons’ offense tonight.
Dejounte Murray, Over 19.5 REB + AST (-105)
|Spurs vs. Rockets||Spurs -5|
|Time | TV||8 p.m. ET | NBA League Pass|
Dejounte Murray and the Spurs take on the Houston Rockets tonight in Toyota Center. This is the second matchup between these two teams in as many weeks. In the first matchup, Murray recorded a triple-double for the Spurs finishing the game with 32 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists.
Further, Murray has eclipsed this line in three straight games for the Spurs. In fact, over the last three games, Murray is averaging 10.3 rebounds and 12 assists per contest.
The Rockets defense has struggled to defend the point guard position to say the least. According to NBA Advanced Stats, the Rockets rank 26th in opponent assists per game per 100 possessions. Murray fourth in the NBA in assists per game (9.0) and second among guards with 8.5 boards per game.
Additionally, according to Hashtag Basketball, the Rockets defense is allowing opposing point guards to average 10.4 assists per game over the last two weeks. I expect another big game out of Murray tonight against the Rockets.
Jusuf Nurkic, Over 11.5 Rebounds (-130)
|Timberwolves vs. Trail Blazers||Wolves -3|
|Time | TV||10 p.m. ET | NBA League Pass|
Jusuf Nurkic has found his form since returning from injury for the Portland Trail Blazers. They host the Minnesota Timberwolves tonight and look to win three in a row for the first time since late November.
The Blazers have won seven of their 11 games this month and Nurkic has been a big part of it. In January, Nurkic has seen a jump in minutes — 31.9 minutes compared to 25.6 through December — which as resulted in an increase in production.
In fact, Nurkic is averaging 13.4 rebounds this month and has recorded double digit rebounds in all but two games. Further, Nurkic has grabbed 14 or more rebounds in four out of the last five games. The Timberwolves defense is struggling to contain opposing centers on the glass and Nurk can exploit that if he continues this play.
Per Hashtag basketball, the Wolves are allowing centers to average 13.5 rebounds per game. Further, the Wolves rank 26th in opponent rebounding and last in defensive rebounding percentage. This could be a smash spot for Nurkic.
