Saturday features another full slate of NBA games with half of these games all tied up at one game apiece. Meanwhile the Philadelphia 76ers have a chance to sweep the Brooklyn Nets and the Phoenix Suns are a heavy favorite against the Los Angeles Clippers without Paul George and Kawhi Leonard.
This article will feature a couple of player props that look great in our NBA Props Model. Let’s dive into our two NBA player props today.
NBA Player Props & Picks
Spencer Dinwiddie, Over 8.5 Assists (+110)
|Time | TV||1 p.m. ET | TNT|
Facing elimination, the Brooklyn Nets are two-point home underdogs despite the Philadelphia 76ers playing without MVP front-runner Joel Embiid. The Nets have had great opportunities in all three matchups, but have failed to score when it matters most. Not having Embiid in the paint will open up so many more opportunities for the Nets offense.
Leading the Nets in assists this season is point guard Spencer Dinwiddie. Since the All-Star break, Dinwiddie is averaging 9.4 assists per game while capturing double-digit assists in nearly half of those 25 games. He has failed to capture nine of more assists in each of the first three games, but is still averaging a respectable 6.7 per game.
Our model has Dinwiddie projected to capture 10.9 assists, which is well over this 8.5 prop line. He is playing 39.7 minutes per game in the first three games and will likely push over 40 minutes tonight. This total may still be very low at 108.5 points, but Dinwiddie has a great opportunity to rack up assists in a must-win game for the Nets.
Xavier Tillman, Under 19.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-115)
|Time | TV||10 p.m. ET | ESPN|
The Memphis Grizzlies were able to knot the series up at one game apiece Wednesday night and now travel on the road for two games against the Los Angeles Lakers. They may have to play once again without Ja Morant who is questionable with a hand injury. Getting two extra days of rest should help, but his status is still up in the air.
Xavier Tillman was one of the key contributors in the Grizzlies double-digit victory as he had a huge double-double with 22 points and 13 rebounds. He shot a ridiculous 10 of 13 from the field and even made one 3-pointer. A massive improvement from Game 1 where he only had two points, three rebounds, and three assists in 22 total minutes.
Landing somewhere in between those two outlier games is the likely outcome for Tillman tonight. Since the All-Star break, the Lakers had the best defense in the league. Tillman will have his hands full with Anthony Davis who will play much better at home. Our model has Tillman projected for only 13.9 points, rebounds, and assists tonight.
