The Celtics still hold the top spot at 53.5 wins despite a rocky offseason. Last season, they had a 46.5 win total and won 51 games despite a slow start. This season, the expectations have jumped immensely after an impressive NBA Finals run.

The Bucks Suns and Clippers are all just behind the Celtics at 52.5 wins, while the reigning champion Warriors are listed at 51.5 wins. The Nets and 76ers, two division rivals, round out the teams with a projected total above 50 wins.

Then there are the teams at the bottom of the list. Five teams are expected to be in play for the No. 1 pick  and the chance to draft Victor Wembanyama. The Jazz saw the largest drop from last season with their win total cut in half year over year — from 51.5 to 24.5 — after trading Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell.

The Thunder and Rockets, two teams with top-three picks in the 2022 NBA Draft, find themselves with low ceilings entering the season. However, the Spurs, who traded away all-star Dejounte Murray this summer, come in at the very bottom with just 22.5 wins.
