Ranking NBA’s Top 10 Centers for 2021-22 Season
#9 Christian Wood
Where does Wood’s basketball journey rank among the most remarkable in NBA history? Amazing is that last season he became the second undrafted player this century to average at least 20 points per game in a season while appearing in at least five games. If we discount Moses Malone, the fifth pick in the 1976 ABA dispersal draft, only he and Mike James (2005-06) have accomplished that since 1980. Making Wood’s story even more impressive is that he was bouncing around the league (and G League) for a few years before hitting his stride. For the Rockets to avoid a long playoff drought, it’s going to be critical for he, Kevin Porter Jr., and Jalen Green to have great chemistry.
