Ranking 10 Greatest European Players in NBA History
#2 Tony Parker
Shortly after winning their first NBA championship, the Spurs experimented with a novel concept. They decided to surround their proven superstar, Tim Duncan, with a pair of standouts from outside the U.S. One of them was Parker, who blossomed into one of the best point guards in NBA history. There were even times, like during the 2007 Finals, when Parker, not Duncan, was San Antonio’s most valuable player (literally, Parker claimed Finals MVP honors that year). Incredibly efficient throughout his career – he has shot over 50 percent from the field in five seasons so far – Parker is a six-time NBA All-Star and one of the best FIBA EuroBasket players of all time.
