The Orlando Magic Partner with Visit Orlando to Showcase International Games

The Magic and Visit Orlando team up to highlight the team’s two international games this season on Oct. 20 and Nov. 9

ORLANDO - The Orlando Magic announced today a partnership with Visit Orlando, naming them presenting partner of the Magic’s International Games Series, highlighting the team’s two international games this season. The Magic will host the Brazilian team, Flamengo, on Oct. 20 and travel to Mexico City to play the Atlanta Hawks on November 9.

As part of the partnership, Visit Orlando and the Magic are leveraging the team’s international popularity to remind travelers all Orlando has to offer and keep the city “top-of-mind” for their next vacation. Visit Orlando’s efforts also include targeted marketing campaigns in both Brazil and Mexico City.

“We are proud to have a growing fan base in both the Brazil and Mexico markets, and these international game opportunities help us bring added excitement for Magic basketball to our fans,” said Magic Sr. Vice President of Global Partnerships J.T. McWalters. “We have a long-standing relationship with Visit Orlando, welcoming fans visiting from all over the world to our region. Partnering with them for these two games gives us both a great opportunity to truly highlight our hometown of Orlando to the world.”

With the game on Oct. 20 being broadcast on Prime Video exclusively in Brazil and the game in Mexico City on Nov. 9 broadcast in the local market, Visit Orlando will have TV signage visible during both games. In addition, the Magic and Visit Orlando will have significant social media campaigns around both games. The social media campaigns will be featured on each of the Magic’s social media platforms, including the team’s Portuguese and Spanish specific platforms. Additional touchpoints include Visit Orlando’s virtual roller coaster experience on the concourse at the Mexico City game for the fans in attendance to enjoy.

“We are very fortunate to live in a major sports destination that is not only home to professional sports teams and leagues, but one that also draws dozens of high-level tournaments and events year-round,” said Casandra Matej, president and CEO of Visit Orlando.  “We are thrilled to host Flamengo and give our visitors from around the world a unique opportunity to watch a game between our hometown NBA team, the Orlando Magic, and a successful team in Brazil right in the heart of downtown Orlando.”
