1 / 12OrlandoMagic.com’s Josh Cohen ranks the best centers in 2016-17. Click through this gallery for full rankings. Honorable Mentions Jusuf Nurkic – The trade to Portland revitalized his career. A broken leg ended his regular season prematurely, though. Dwight Howard – He’s still a terrific rebounder but he no longer has the explosion or impacts the game defensively like he used to. Al Horford – He had some solid performances in his first season with the Celtics. But, he doesn’t do anything dazzling which buries his value to some extent. Tristan Thompson – He’s the hustle guy that chases down offensive rebounds and loose balls for LeBron James and Co. Andre Drummond – While still a great rebounder, his offensive development stalled and we didn’t see much progress when many thought he would take the next step in his career. Myles Turner – He was solid in his second NBA season. He improved in nearly every statistical category. Marcin Gortat – He averaged a double-double for the second time in his career.
