Cohen 8-Ball: Ranking 2013-14 Best Shooting Guards

#3 Kobe Bryant

Cohen’s Analysis: It remains a mystery when Kobe will return from his Achilles injury. Some think it will be on Christmas Day when the Lakers host the Heat. Others believe Bryant will make a surprising return earlier to upstage his cynics. And few truly believe he may sit out the entire season to allow L.A. to jackpot on a high lottery draft pick.

Assuming he returns within reason, there is no evidence to suggest he won’t have an instant impact for the Lakers. While he likely won’t be quite the same caliber as he was a few years ago or simply prior to his injury, Kobe will still manage to average better than 20 points per game and have L.A. in contention for a playoff spot.
