Fans attending games should be aware that all bags larger than 14" x 14" x 6” (i.e. backpacks, suitcases, beach bags, etc.) will be prohibited from entry into the arena, in accordance with STAPLES Center and NBA policy. Exceptions may be made on a case by case basis for guests with special medical needs or guests with infant bags (with an infant present). STAPLES Center is entering its seventeenth year and is has undoubtedly developed an unrivaled reputation for excellence while establishing itself as the Sports and Entertainment Center of the World. Beginning with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band’s opening night concert on October 17, 1999, more than 50 million guests have come to the AEG-owned and operated STAPLES Center to attend a schedule of prestigious concerts, sporting events, award shows, family shows and other major attractions unmatched by any arena.
As the home of four professional sports franchises, the NBA’s Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers, the NHL’s Los Angeles Kings, and the WNBA’s Los Angeles Sparks, STAPLES Center has proven to be a home court advantage for the local teams with the Lakers capturing five NBA Championships and the Kings winning two Stanley Cups since 1999 while, the Sparks captured back-to-back WNBA Championships in their first two STAPLES Center campaigns.
STAPLES Center continues to distinguish itself as the host of major, high-profile events of national and international distinction including the 2004 & 2011 NBA All-Star Weekends, the 2002 NHL All-Star Game and 2010 NHL Draft, 2002 U.S. Figure Skating Championships, the 2000 Democratic National Convention, 2009 ISU World Figure Skating Championships, sixteen of the last seventeen GRAMMY Award shows, eleven X Games competitions, four WTA Tour Championships, 12 Pac 12 Men’s Basketball Championship tournaments, 2013 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship West Regional and the Michael Jackson Public Memorial Service on July 7, 2009.

Through the charitable endeavors of STAPLES Center Foundation, dynamic and life changing programs and services that focus on education, mentorship, healthy living, and healthcare, have been provided to children and families throughout Los Angeles with a special emphasis on supporting low income neighborhoods surrounding the arena.
More than $10 million in grants and in-kind support has been pledged to support several local charities and community-based organizations with a goal of changing lives and saving lives. STAPLES Center Foundation works diligently to assist charities in raising funds, developing resources, increasing awareness, and highlighting their community impact. The foundations philanthropic reach has impacted organizations such as 10th Street Elementary, Inner City Arts, Salvation Army Red Shield Youth & Community Center, The Midnight Mission, and several local hospitals. Anchor Tenants, including the LA Kings, Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers and Los Angeles Sparks, assist in creating once in a lifetime fundraising opportunities and experiences for our charity partners and community members.
STAPLES Center and L.A. LIVE serve as the hub for community engagement during the holiday season, and supports employee volunteerism activities such as a company-wide Day of Service. Through a partnership with City Year, employees volunteer to refurbish local public schools by providing supplies, painting, cleaning and gardening services. During AEG’s Season of Giving, held throughout the month of December, the Foundation spotlights more than two dozen local charities and community-based organizations and provides non-profits a platform to collect food, hold blood drives, register volunteers, educate the public and sign up mentors with the Nokia Plaza L.A. LIVE, its ice skating rink, STAPLES Center and the holiday tree as the backdrop.
STAPLES Center has been designed with the fans of Los Angeles in mind. Guests who attend events are treated to the finest entertainment experience imaginable. The arena has free public Wi-Fi powered by Verizon, over 840 Toshiba flat panel televisions and (as part of a specially designed $1.5 million facility sound system) 675 separate speakers outside of the seating area, so fans never miss any of the sights or sounds of a STAPLES Center event. Also featured is a $2 million specialty lighting package and other state-of-the-art amenities. In 2010, STAPLES Center unveiled their brand new $10 million center-hung video LIVE 4HD Scoreboard specially designed for the arena.
Along STAPLES Center’s five concourses are 23 refreshment stands offering a variety of dining choices including the Smokehouse BBQ on City View Terrace, a one-of-a-kind outdoor dining experience with a spectacular view of L.A. LIVE and of the downtown Los Angeles skyline. The TEAM LA store located on the main concourse is a retail store featuring official merchandise from the teams and events that call STAPLES Center home with satellite locations throughout the facility and L.A. LIVE. Finally, the arena provides 55 public restrooms including three “family” restrooms.

The STAPLES Center experience is second-to-none from the entertainment environment to the staff’s commitment to making every guest’s visit a memorable one. STAPLES Center continues to set new standards for the arena industry. Located directly across the street from STAPLES Center is L.A. LIVE, a one-of-a-kind sports, and entertainment district in downtown Los Angeles. The four million square foot destination features Microsoft Theater, The GRAMMY Museum, Conga Room and The Novo, giving L.A. LIVE ‘more music per square foot’ than anywhere else in the world. The district offers a rich mix of local, regional and national restaurants including Wolfgang Puck Bar and Grill, Rosa Mexicano, Yard House, Katsuya, Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, Rock 'N Fish, Lawry's Carvery, Live Basil Pizza, Tom’s Urban, Smashburger, Red Mango, Triple 7 China Bar & Grill, Starbucks and BOCA at the Conga Room, WP24 and others.
