In the second game of the 2010 season, Kobe Bryant and co. went down to the wire in Phoenix, but nonetheless managed to hand head coach Phil Jackson his 1,100th career victory with a 114-106 win.

“I can’t think of any coach who has accomplished what he’s accomplished in any sport,” Bryant said to reporters after the game.

L.A.’s entire starting lineup, plus reserve Matt Barnes, finished in double figures, and Bryant led the way with 25 points on a 9-of-19 clip that included an ankle-breaking crossover against Goran Dragic.

The reigning NBA Finals MVP also added seven rebounds, while Lamar Odom unleashed an 18-point, 17-rebound performance to counter solid efforts from Grant Hill (21 points) and Robin Lopez (18 points, 14 rebounds).

Though the Suns fought back to within six points in the fourth quarter of their home opener, Brant came through when L.A. needed him by tallying 13 points (4-of-7) in the second half.
