For the first time in his career, Kobe Bryant joined the Lakers’ starting lineup.
Though the teenager finished with 12 points (5-of-11), three rebounds and two assists, the Lakers nonetheless pulled out a 102-83 win at Dallas.
Led by Shaquille O’Neal, who finished with 31 points and 10 rebounds, the Lakers used a 29-12 third quarter to upend the Mavericks.
The Lakers shot 50.6 percent from the field, while holding Dallas to a 39.2 percent clip despite 26 points from Jamal Washburn.
Bryant also picked up a pair of steals, as Los Angeles won its fourth game in a row.
