Fresh off the heels of their three-peat, Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal combined to extinguish Phoenix, 109-97.
Bryant provided 13 of his 31 points in the first quarter along, while also saving up to score the Lakers’ first nine in the final period. Meanwhile, O’Neal bullied his way down low to the tune of 36 points (15-of-19), 16 rebounds and four blocks.
Bryant shot 13-of-29, while tallying 12 rebounds and seven assists to help keep Los Angeles’ offense humming.
The Lakers shot 52.4 percent from the field and outrebounded Phoenix, 53-37, to combat the Suns, who were led by 32 points from Stephon Marbury.
