Q: On what he’s trying to show in these workouts:
Ennis: Personally, coming from Syracuse, it’s tough to see how you can play 1-on-1 defense so I’m trying to show I can defend another point guard, and show I can shoot the NBA three. They haven’t seen us shoot from NBA range in college so coming out and being able to shoot the ball and sticking to what I do best, make plays for others, work off the pick-and-roll, work off isolation and just sticking to my game.

Q: On wearing the purple and gold:
Ennis: It’s a great feeling seeing the retired jerseys on the wall and knowing the history. They haven’t had a lottery pick in awhile, so to work out here with such a great team is something I’ll remember forever.

Q: On if he was a Kobe fan growing up:
Ennis: I think everybody was. You have to respect Kobe. To be able to workout alongside him as a young player and see how he works will help anybody, regardless of position. Work ethic is contagious. To have him, Steve Nash and the older guys, you have no reason but to get better.

Ennis finished eighth in lane agility time (11.12 seconds), second in shuttle run (2.84 seconds), and tied for seventh in max vertical leap (36.0 inches) among point guards at the NBA Draft Combine.

Aaron Gordon was named Pac-12 Freshman of the Year - the seventh Arizona player to earn the honor - and was also selected to the First-Team All-Pac-12 and Pac-12 All-Freshman Team. The San Jose native set UA freshman records with 303 rebounds and 38 games started, and finished the season ranked second all-time among UA freshman in minutes played (1,187), third in field goals (189), fourth in free throw attempts (180), fifth in blocks (39) and eighth in points (470).

Q: On his thoughts on working out here in Los Angeles:
Gordon: The trophies back there, I went up and asked somebody: ‘Are those real?’ I thought it was pretty interesting. It would be amazing to play here, but like I said, I’m just excited to be picked by any team.

Q: On what he wants to show teams in these workouts:
Gordon: I think I just have to show people that I’m not losing what got me here, which is my athleticism, my motor and my intangibles. Everything else is just icing on the cake. I’m shooting the ball a little bit better and people are finally seeing how well I can dribble the ball and how well I can pass the ball.

Q: On what position he sees himself playing in the NBA:
Gordon: Point forward. Forward as of right now and then developing into a point forward. I’ve played point forward my entire life but at the next level I want to be a forward and then develop into that.

Q: On possibly playing with Kobe Bryant and Steve Nash:
Gordon: Kobe is psychotic about basketball and I am too. That would be absolutely incredible learning from a great, just the little intricacies of the game, the details. I’d love to see his work ethic. Kobe is the definition of a true pro as well as Steve Nash. Being around those two guys would help me tremendously.

Gary Harris is the third Michigan State Spartans player to score more than 1,000 points in two seasons, joining Mike Robinson and Earvin “Magic” Johnson. Q: On what he’s trying to prove in these workouts:
Harris: Everything. Being more consistent with my shot, working on my ballhandling, working on my decision-making skills, just my all-around game and trying to get better and preparing myself for the next level.

Q: On what he believes the biggest adjustment will be going from college to the pros:
Harris: I talked to a lot of guys but the strength and pace. It may not look like it’s going fast on TV, but things happen quickly. Just getting adjusted. Everybody has their adjustment level going into college, but I’m going to have the same adjustment level going to the NBA.

Q: On what he tells teams his greatest asset is and what he can bring to the table:
Harris: My will to compete on both ends of the floor. I’m going to give it my all no matter what.

Zach LaVine played in all 37 games as a freshman at UCLA and captured Pac-12 All-Freshman Team honors. He finished the season making 48 three-pointers, the second-highest number of three-point field goals by a freshman in UCLA program history (trailing Jason Kapono’s school freshman record 82 makes in 1999-00).

Q: On what he’s trying to prove in these workouts:
LaVine: People haven’t really seen me play the point guard position that much or handle the ball. They know I can score, jump and run. But for me, showing my facilitating abilities and being able to create will definitely help me a lot.

Q: On his 46-inch vertical leap during the physical testing part of the drills:
LaVine: I was pumped a little bit, you know, the Lakers.

Q: On what he’s working on at the point guard position:
LaVine: I’m working on my reads off the pick and roll, getting the feel for it. I didn’t handle the ball that much this year, so getting my ballhandling and vision back.

Q: On his subpar second half of the season at UCLA:
LaVine: I’m 19 years old. You go through an up and down season. At the NBA level, I’ll go through an up and down parts of the season as well. As a basketball player, you have to deal with that. As long as the team is winning and we’re rolling, I’m fine.

Q: On defending at the next level:
LaVine: I feel like I have all the tools to be a great defender at the one position. I have the speed and quickness. I just have to get stronger, of course. But learning how to read the picks, going over or under them, the different types of defenses. I’m willing to do anything a team needs me to do. If they want me to go out and play straight defense and lock someone up, I’ll do that. If they need me to be a cheerleader on the bench, I’ll do that. If they need me to run the team, I’ll do that as well. I’m going in to win a spot.

LaVine finished in the top five in each category that tested strength and agility drills at the NBA Combine: lane agility time (10.42 seconds, first), shuttle run (2.80 seconds, second), three quarter sprint (3.19 seconds, eighth), standing vertical jump (33.5 inches, fourth) and max vertical leap (41.5 inches, fourth).

A native of Australia, Dante Exum played in the 2012 FIBA Under-17 World Championship and the 2013 FIBA Under-19 World Championship. He averaged 18.2 points and 3.8 assists over nine games at the 2013 tournament and was named to the All-Tournament Team. Exum participated in the 2013 Nike Hoop Summit for the World Select Team and helped lead the squad (16 points, three boards, two dimes) to a 112-98 victory over the USA Junior Select Team that featured players such as Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon and Julius Randle.

Exum finished second in lane agility time behind LaVine (10.75 seconds), tied for sixth in shuttle run (2.88 seconds) and tied for eighth in three quarter sprint (3.19 seconds).

Joel Embiid was named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year after setting a Kansas freshman record with 72 blocked shots. He was also named to the All-Big 12 Second Team and Big 12 All-Defensive Team, while finishing second in conference play in blocks (2.6 per game) and sixth in rebounds (8.1). The Cameroon native set KU freshman records in field goal percentage (62.1) and rebound average (8.1), and also led the team with eight double-doubles. A stress fracture in Embiid's back sidelined him for the last six games of his season, which included the Big 12 Tournament and the NCAA tournament.

Doug McDermott led the nation in scoring his senior season and ranks fifth all-time in NCAA Division I history with 3,150 points. Q: On his thoughts on when he sees the retired jerseys and championship banners hanging on the rafters:
McDermott: It’s pretty crazy. It’s a dream come true. It’s my first workout so I was a little nervous to start, especially it being the Lakers, but it went really well. It’s a privilege to be here.

Q: On what he plans to work on the next few weeks before the NBA Draft:
McDermott: Ballhandling mainly and lateral quickness. I feel like my jumper will always be there. I just have to work on the in between stuff. I have a long ways to go in that area, but I feel like I’ll improve every day.

Q: On if he’s heard any comparisons to current NBA players:
McDermott: It’s a tough comparison but guys like (Kyle) Korver. I’m really good at coming off screens, I’m a great shooter. I watch a lot of Ray Allen, guys like that. I feel like I can really find a role in this league and maximize that.

Q: On what position he’ll defend in the NBA:
McDermott: I could get a lot bigger. I’m not going to grow any more so I definitely have to hit the weight room hard and that’ll allow me to guard a four at times. But I guarded a lot of strong guys in college so I think I can adjust once I get a little stronger, but as of now, I’m going to have to guard three’s and possibly two’s, and I think I can do it.

Q: On what it was like being a four-year guy competing and being around multiple underclassmen in workouts:
McDermott: It’s pretty crazy. I couldn’t imagine being 18 or 19 going through this process. I feel like I’m still a young guy, but I’m three years older than them. I like to give guys like that advice, too. Obviously they’re good guys and they’re open to listening to older guys.

McDermott ranked second in lane agility time (11.10 seconds), eighth in shuttle run (3.15 seconds), seventh in three quarter sprint (3.29 seconds) and fifth in max vertical leap (36.5 inches) among all small forwards at the NBA Draft Combine.

Jabari Parker was voted ACC Freshman of the Year and was a unanimous selection to the All-ACC Freshman Team. He set the Duke freshman record in scoring average (19.1) and became the first freshman to lead the team in both scoring and rebounding (8.7). The Chicago native also earned 10 Rookie of the Week selections, which tied the ACC record first set by Georgia Tech’s Kenny Anderson in 1990 and was matched by North Carolina’s Tyler Hansbrough in 2006.
